My Rating - 4/5
Author - Amish Tripathi
This is the second book in the Shiva trilogy. As expected, new characters are introduced in a bizarre way. There is good amount of suspense too, of course along with good humour.
Believe the theory that gives you peace and reject the one that causes you pain.
Certain revelations are made which is definitely astonishing. Finally, the secret of the hooded figure is revealed. Though it may appear that the identity of the hooded figure and his people is the Secret of the Nagas then nope, that is not the case. The actual Secret of the Nagas is revealed in the last page of the book, so patience is a must if spoilers need to be avoided.
It is interesting the way Shiva and Sati undergo different emotions once the identity of the hooded figure is revealed. But the last page of the book will definitely have an impact on Shiva, no doubt about that.
Coming to Daksha, it was surprising that he was so faithful and devoted to Shiva. And now devastating secrets are revealed which causes emotional turmoil in the family. But it was kind of expected that Daksha and Shiva will be against each other at some point of time.
A lot of secrets come to light in this book such as, the secret of Daksha, the secret of Somras, The identity of the hooded figure, the secret of the king of Kashi and many more.
Though most mysteries from the first book is clarified, new ones have emerged from this book, like what exactly is Bhrigu up to? And when will Shiva discover the actual evil? and so on. The next book has to be promising as Shiva has to find out what is the evil and then destroy it.
The book goes on with a smooth pace and it’s an easy read. It also has good amount of philosophy in it, bit more than the first book. Overall, it’s a great continuation to the first book and totally worth reading.
