Clarke lives a normal life wishing it could be more than normal - filled with magic. That is, until her roommate is murdered and all the evidence shows that she is the murderer.
This is a fast-paced book. It starts as a murder mystery and turns into fantasy midway. The starting is steady and slow as the author explains the character of Clarke. Then the story travels fast with lots of twist, turns and questions. The number of characters is great and this makes the story easy to understand. This book is the foundation to the main story that is yet to come. And since the foundation is strong there’s no doubt that the upcoming books will be stronger.
Overall, it's a wonderful read and is recommended to all mystery and fantasy readers!
