My Rating - 4/5
A great book written by Jeffrey Archer. The book does have a slow start but once all characters are introduced it picks up the pace and definitely gets interesting.
It is unfair to say that this book has only one moral. The main lesson is 'Don't get mean, get even', and this is the main plot of the story. Four people who don't even know each other get swindled by a common cunning man. Each of the four is an expert in his own field of work and are helpless at first. Once they all get together and start planning in order to get their money back, the turn of events that starts to take place is fantastic.
The title itself says 'Not a Penny More, Not a Penny Less', this is another good thing the four follow. They lose a million and decide to get that million back, plus the expenses, that happen while getting back the million.
It would have been nice if Harvey (The one who swindles) had an idea that the four were trying to get back their money. If he had, then he could have countered their moves and the four could have come up with something better. But even though Harvey had no idea about these four, the latter did go through a rollercoaster ride in the process of getting back the money.
Coming to Anne, her actual identity is written in such a way that it's hidden in plain sight. While reading if one carefully understands the lines written by the author, the moment when her identity is revealed won't be much of a surprise.
Overall, it's a great book to read. Along with the suspense it's got a bit of humor too. It also tells us about teamwork and if one excels in one’s profession how easy it is for them to use that knowledge in various fields.
