ILLBORN

My Rating - 4 /5

Author - Daniel T. Jackson

One dream. Initially five people. Fate.

The prologue itself is an interesting start to this great story because the ending of the prologue was shocking and intriguing.

The four main characters are beautifully written. Each character is given equal importance with equal number of pages. Not only that but the character development is so smooth that it actually feels like the reader knows these four from a long time.

The story is written from different viewpoints and it takes time to get adjusted to all of the characters, however once that's done it's a smooth read. Every character has his/her own unique power which intensifies as the pages turn.

While reading it is understood that all four of them must meet at some point of time and that doesn't happen in this book. Well, a few of them meet at different intervals of time but not all together.

There's the story of 'The Boy' too which is fitted in between. Though the boy's name is not mentioned it can be easily guessed who he is, and hence the Epilogue seemed obvious, but the killing of the boy's friends is a mystery and might be explained in the upcoming books of this series. Overall, it's a great and unique read and is recommended to all fantasy lovers.
