My Rating - 4/5
Author - Neil deGrasse Tyson
Anyone who has an interest in astrophysics and wants answers in simple words to the bizarre questions that pops up in the mind just by looking at the sky, then this book is a must read!
Don't judge a book by its cover.
Don't judge a book by its movie.
Don't judge a book by its size.
These three things should by in the mind of the reader while choosing to read a book. In fact, most book readers follow these three rules. Coming to this book, the third rule is applicable. The book may look small and the font may seem big, but the amount of information packed in this book is enormous.
If you have heard Neil deGrasse Tyson speak, or read any of his books, then one thing is a constant and that is his sense of humour. The book does have some deep concepts and the humour makes the reader understand these concepts easily. In simple words, it's Learning with Fun.
A vast range of topics are covered here such as, Dark matter, Dark Energy, Light, Galaxies etc. There are instances where he explains about a few subatomic particles too. And there's a whole chapter on elements of the periodic table (not all).
Though the book is written in simple words and has detailed explanation, it is advisable to know a few terms beforehand so that the reading can go on uninterrupted. Overall, it's a wonderful and educative book that can be read by people with ease.
